Which Blinds Provide the Most Light Control?

Hello, my name is Harold. I am quite new to using the internet. My granddaughter taught me how to use this computer so I decided to start a blog. I didn't have an idea for what I should base my blog on. My wife suggested that I start a home and garden blog. I should make it clear that I am not a home and garden expert so all this advice consists of things I have learnt myself or been taught by others when I have been working on my own property. I hope you enjoy my blog and find it useful.

The degree to which you can control the amount of sunlight that comes into your home from a window treatment is an important factor to consider when you're looking at your options for window treatments. Of course, any window treatment you install should be able to cut out most of the light when you want it to, but it must also be able to maximise the amount of light flow at other times. In between these two states, you will often want to regulate the amount of light that comes in and to be able to do so with a high degree of control. Which blinds are best in this regard, helping to prevent glare as well as too much gloominess?

Roman Blinds

Roman blinds take their name from the period when they were first used to create shade. During the Roman Empire era, basic coverings that folded up on themselves with widely used in residences, even though glazed windows were not present. These days, Roman blinds have an attractive look and, when lined, will cut out nearly all of the sun's rays. However, there are probably only one or two settings you have between them being fully open or fully closed. What's more, they commonly hang down a little at the top of your window, which means that you will never be able to fully maximise the amount of light that comes in.

Roller Blinds

These products are a good option if you want to control the amount of light that comes in through windows as well as glazed doorways. In fact, they work well as either outdoor or indoor blinds, so you can deploy them very flexibly around the home. With a simple pulley control system, you can raise and lower them to exactly the position you want them at. However, it is impossible to really fine-tune the brightness of your room using roller blinds unless you are willing to continually reset their height as the sun moves across the sky.

Venetian Blinds

One of the most popular types of blind in Australia today is the Venetian blind. After all, Venetian blinds suit nearly every type of interior decor. Like roller blinds, you can raise and lower them to exactly the right height given the position of the sun. However, because they have adjustable slats, you are also able to adjust them to control the overall brightness of a room. Furthermore, changing the angle of their slats appropriately means that you are able to enjoy privacy inside your home without compromising too much on the amount of light that flows in.
